Jessica Shand is a South Carolina native whose longstanding commitment to community, service, and leadership is reflected throughout her professional career and civic involvement. Jessica has maintained deep roots in the Midlands and continues to contribute meaningfully to organizations that shape the region.

Jessica earned her degree from the University of South Carolina, concentrating in business administration and communications. She brings more than two decades of experience working closely with decision makers across South Carolina state agencies, developing strong relationships and a nuanced understanding of government operations. This expertise has been central to her work as the owner of Hobietech, an Information Technology staffing organization, dedicated to aligning skilled professionals with both public- and private-sector needs.

In recent years, Jessica has expanded her focus to include nonprofit engagement, allowing her to integrate her professional experience with her passion for service. Jessica’s commitment to service is also evident in her extensive volunteer leadership. She is an active member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, where she served on the Vestry and continues to contribute through the Dean Search Committee. A sustainer of the Junior League of Columbia, Jessica previously served on its Board and remains involved in its community-focused efforts. Additionally, she has volunteered with organizations including Homeless No More and the Columbia City Ballet, and serves on the Board of Trustees of Heathwood Hall Episcopal School.
