The Southern Group is continuing to grow its government affairs team with the addition of Jack Rogers, a transportation and legislative veteran who most recently served as Deputy Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Transportation.
Rogers spent nearly a decade working in Florida’s legislative and executive branches, helping lead FDOT’s legislative and policy agenda while coordinating with lawmakers, the Governor’s Office, local governments and industry stakeholders. Among his biggest accomplishments was helping secure more than $7 billion for the Moving Florida Forward Initiative, one of the largest transportation investments in state history.
At The Southern Group, Rogers will advise clients on transportation, infrastructure, agriculture, appropriations and executive branch policy.
Senior Managing Partner Rachel Cone, a former Deputy Chief of Staff in the Governor’s Office and interim FDOT Secretary, said Rogers’ experience gives him a unique understanding of how policy moves from concept to implementation: “Jack understands how policy is shaped, funded and implemented because he has done it at every level,” she said.
