TEAM / Nick Grant

Nick Grant joined The Southern Group in 2026, bringing a strong background in health care policy, government relations, and political strategy.
Prior to joining the firm, Nick served as Director of Government Relations for Lee Health representing one of Florida’s largest health systems, serving a five-county region with more than 3 million patient contacts annually and over 16,000 employees.
In this role, Nick led strategic engagement with state and local policymakers, successfully securing tens of millions in state appropriations, including funding for graduate medical education, a new health system data center and cybersecurity infrastructure, and a mobile health unit to expand access to care. He played a key role in advancing policies to strengthen Medicaid reimbursement and protect critical hospital funding streams.
Nick also helped lead legislative and stakeholder efforts supporting Lee Health’s successful transition from a public hospital system to a community-based nonprofit, navigating a complex statutory and political process to position the organization for long-term sustainability and growth.
Earlier in his career, Nick worked as a political consultant, advising and helping elect candidates in competitive races across Florida. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of Florida’s political landscape and the decision-making dynamics that shape public policy outcomes.
Nick earned his bachelor’s degree in political science from Florida State University. He is a graduate of The Gov. Bob & Mary Jane Martinez Citizen Institute at Florida Tax Watch and completed Florida Gulf Coast University’s Systems Thinking for Healthcare Leaders program. He is also a member of Leadership Florida’s Connect Class 15.
He currently serves on the YMCA of Southwest Florida Association Board and was appointed by the Lee County Board of County Commissioners to the Lee County Disaster Advisory Committee.
