Brandon Reese
Atlanta, GA

Brandon joined The Southern Group in 2026, bringing more than two decades of experience working in and around the Georgia State Capitol and across a wide range of industry sectors, including entertainment, healthcare, energy, and economic development. He is widely respected for his ability to build and sustain strong relationships with policymakers, trade associations, and industry leaders at all levels of government. His work has earned consistent recognition in Georgia political and business publications, including being named the state’s top lobbyist by James Magazine in 2011.

Most recently, Brandon served as Vice President of State Government Affairs for the Southeast at the Motion Picture Association (MPA), the leading advocate for the global film, television, and streaming industry. In January 2023, he convened a coalition of lobbyists at the Georgia Capitol focused on protecting film and entertainment industry jobs statewide. This effort will continue through the 2026 legislative session.

Prior to the MPA, Brandon held senior government affairs roles representing a diverse set of interests. He spent more than four years advocating for job creators at the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and an additional four years leading energy policy efforts on behalf of Georgia’s electric utilities and their customers. Earlier in his career, he spent more than a decade at Wellstar Health System, Georgia’s largest health system, where he led coalition-building efforts to expand access to quality healthcare and modernize the state’s healthcare regulatory framework. This work included spearheading the “Save Georgia Healthcare” coalition in 2019 and directing multi-level government relations strategy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brandon served as Chair of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Council from 2020 to 2022, representing more than 400 government affairs professionals. He and his wife, Alison, are graduates of Leadership Georgia, Class of 2019.

A native of Calhoun, Georgia, Brandon is a graduate of the University of Georgia and lives in Atlanta with his wife, Alison, and their daughter, Blair.
