Deno has served as a Managing Partner in our Jacksonville office since 2009.

Deno has successfully represented a variety of industries, including education, the energy sector, health care, maritime, outdoor advertising, real estate, transportation, telecommunications, and water utilities, and has worked on local/state incentives and procurement support.

A Jacksonville native, Deno Hicks began his career in the engineering and consulting industry, but he has consistently directed his attention to public policy. Deno served the George W. Bush administration as Florida liaison to the Department of Political Affairs of the White House.

Deno was elected Republican State Committeeman in Duval County and Chairman of Congressional District 4, where he served a four-year term.

Deno has also served on the Florida Greenways and Trails Council, as a member of the 4th Circuit Court Judicial Nominating Commission, as one of the governor’s ten appointees to the Executive Board of the Republican Party of Florida, as a nominee to the Electoral College, and as a delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention.

Locally, Deno has served on the Mayor’s Transition Team, Major Issues Committee for the 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update, Sheriff’s Community Engagement Task Force, Planning Commission for the City of Jacksonville, the Zoning Code Re-Write Committee for the City of Jacksonville, and on the City’s Charter Revision Commission.

Deno has served as a member or trustee of many professional and civic boards and committees, including JaxBiz, the Nonprofit Center of Northeast Florida, Family Support Services of Northeast Florida, and Florida House, the state’s embassy in Washington, D.C.

Deno received his BA from the University of Florida, where he has served as chairman of his College’s Advisory Council. He lives in Jacksonville with his wife and their three children.
